Discovery Museum is open for all inquisitive minds, including visitors with physical, sensorial, mental and/or intellectual impairments. However, Discovery Museum is a stimulus-rich museum, with lots of images, sound and movement.

Regularly, we organise a low-stimulus museum visit where light and sound are muted. This opening is for anyone who is sensitive to stimuli. In this way, we give them the opportunity to enjoy what Discovery Museum has to offer too. During the opening, adjustments are made to the exhibition and routing to make the visit as stimulus-friendly as possible. For more information: Stimulus-friendly museum visit

We have a sensory basket for visitors who are sensitive to stimuli. The sensory basket contains aids such as ear defenders, fidget toys, etc. The reception staff will be happy to help you if you wish to use any of these aids.

There is a dedicated entrance for visitors in wheelchairs or with a stroller. This entrance has a lift. The entrance is located on the side of the green sphere, halfway along the building. You can ring the bell at this entrance so that you can access the building via the lift. Wheelchair users can move freely throughout the buildings. There are several lifts and a disabled toilet.

Carers accompanying people with a disability are granted free entry (upon presentation of a card such as an Autipas, Prikkelpas, European Disability Card, etc.).

Pets must stay outside, but registered service dogs on a leash are welcome.

Disabled parking spaces are available at the P+R next to Kerkrade centre station, reservations are not required. The museum can then be reached via a wheelchair-accessible path to the entrance.

Please contact the museum if you have any other requirements. We’d be happy to see what we can do to help.
